Chauvin’s bail was immediately revoked and he was taken into custody. He will be back at court for the sentencing phase of the trial on 16 June 2021. In the interim, he will be kept in solitary confinement for his own protection, 23 hours a day.

GEORGE FLOYD MURDER: Derek Chauvin will now face a third-degree murder charge.
The judge overseeing the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing George Floyd, has allowed prosecutors to add an additional charge of third-degree murder against Mr. Chauvin, who is already facing a more serious count of second-degree murder.
